I’ve had a request for my extension to add some helpful information to a tool-tip-style window, such as are provided for (I believe) Symbols:
How would one provide helpful supplemental information about a range of text?

I would be interested in this too.
This is supported in Nova when using the Language Server Protocol (using its hover request), but is not currently supported for normal extensions. We are currently tracking a feature request to expose this ability.
