New windows are tiny

MacOS Sequoia 15.3.1
Nova 12.4

When a new window is created, the window is very small — about half the size of the available work space — and needs to be resized to be usable.

I was hoping that if I resized the window, maybe future windows would be opened at that size, but all new windows remain tiny and have to be resized manually.

To reproduce:

  1. Launch Nova
  2. Close all open windows
  3. Navigate to the File menu and select New > Window or New > Document

Expected behavior:
New windows should be maximized to occupy all available space, OR new windows should be sized to match the most recently resized window, OR there should be a setting to control the size of new windows.
