Open SVG as text by default?

I’m running Nova 12 Build 648365 and I’m running into an issue where Nova will view SVG images by default (I don’t recall it being this way before). If you actually want/need to edit them you have to select ‘Open as… Text’ in the right-click menu in the Files tab.

Is there any way to set ‘Open as… Text’ as the default? This is the behaviour that I require most of the time, and having to right-click and ‘Open as… text’ every time I want to edit an SVG file is driving me nuts.

I 100% agree. It’s very rare that I’d be looking to view anything but the svg code when opening an svg in a code editor.

Yes! If you open Nova’s Files preferences, and under Custom File Types add SVG and set it to XML, they should prefer to open as text.

This fixed it for me.

It was default - think this is a better starting place FWIW. Can’t think of a time I’ve ever needed to view the file not edit.
