Posting this in case anyone else hits the same problem.
The error “This organization does not exist” means the extension.json file has values in the identifier (and possibly organization) that don’t match the values showing in:
Preferences: General: Extension Development: Manage Account
This will open a web page. The attributes above must match what’s shown in the section called “Your Organizations.”
